Education For All- Help Shape Their Future

Around the world, 72 million school-age children are not in school. The Education for All Act would commit the United States to investing in a comprehensive strategy to help these children get access to basic education, and break devastating cycles of poverty in the developing world.

I just took action with the ONE Campaign and asked my member of Congress to co-sponsor the Education for All Act. You can too, here:

By helping to shape their minds,we're helping to shape their future, resulting in a better world for all.

World Hunger Crisis- A Tragic Fact

In just 3 years , prices for the very basic staples of life ( wheat, rice ,corn) has risen by an unbelievable, 83%

For people living in developing countries, being able to afford enough food to feed their families is a daily struggle.
A very sad and deplorable fact was reported by the N.Y.Times, stating that people living in Haiti, are eating cakes of mud, mixed with a little sugar and oil, just to attempt to rid themselves of hunger pangs.

If immediate action isn't taken,to stop this upward spiral of food prices, 100 million people around the world, already living in poverty, will find themselves more impoverished than they already are.Not to mention the hundreds of thousands who will be forced to confront, famine and starvation .

The One org has more than 100,000 petition signers, who have urged President Bush to solve this hunger crisis
by making it a top priority on his agenda at a summit meeting in Japan, this July.

All of us can take part in helping One reach their new goal of 200,000 petition signers, urging the
President to rally and take emergency action against hunger.

Won't you please take the time to sign this petition and help fight this world hunger
crisis? One.org

Help Stamp Out Hunger

On Saturday, May 10, Campbell Soup Company will join forces with the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) to Stamp Out Hunger! across America . Now in its 16 th year, the Stamp Out Hunger! effort is the nation's largest single-day food drive, having collected more than 836 million pounds of food since its inception in 1993.

To help Stamp Out Hunger! this year, simply leave a sturdy bag containing non-perishable foods, such as canned soup, canned vegetables, pasta, rice or cereal next to your mailbox prior to the time of regular mail delivery on May 10. Food items should be in non-breakable containers, such as boxes and cans. The nation's 230,000 letter carriers will then collect donations from homes across the country and deliver them to food bank members of America 's Second Harvest – The Nation's Food Bank Network and other hunger relief organizations in more than 10,000 local communities.
